Connecting people while having fun!
I've worked the 10 past years in the development finance, investment banking and corporate banking fields mainly in emerging markets and developing countries. I've also worked in Social and Event Management positions since the end of the 90's when I was VP Exchange of the Concordia University International Student's Association in Montreal Canada. I also participated and worked actively in Lund University's Student Nation (Östgötä) during 1998 - 2002 as well as most recently (2004 -) as Founder and Head of Finnfund's (previous employer) Recreation and Events Department in Helsinki, Finland. In addition, I've organized numerous events and parties for my social networks around the world and enjoy the practical challenges of piecing the ingredients of an amazing party together.
More importantly I've travelled the world meeting new people, learning, exploring and being inspired. So far the most interesting and valuable experiences during my travels and work abroad have always taken place in a social context. Enjoying a great meal, sipping on a cold drink or participating in a recreational event with a group of likeminded people is what makes the difference. That's where the long-term connections are tied and where friends are made. The ability to network and participate in social and recreational events across different cultures is an essential skill in today's global world. Studying is not just about learning the academics; it's about widening your horizon, learning from others, discovering new worlds and having a great time while doing it! That's what the Social and Recreation Club will help you accomplish.

During my future tenure as President, or Ex-Co, of the Social and Recreation Club I will endeavor to:
- Have fun and enjoy life together with all of you!
- Help people connect and meet new friends. It is especially important to bring together part-time, full-time and exchange students from all intakes.
- To increase the participation of all students in the activities of the Club by providing a wide variety of different types of events taking into consideration the diversity of the students.
- Create a relaxed and socially & culturally rich environment where people can meet, socialize, party and unwind while having a great time. In other words, a venue for forgetting about assignments, class work, deadlines and stress.
- Increase awareness of the advantages of joining social events, networking and having fun.
- Create a platform where every student can propose and/or organize events spontaneously and provide support in planning and implementing these events.
- Develop and help maintain an active presence of the Club within the Student Council and NUS Business School (lobbying for resources, enhancing interactivity, improving website etc.). Ensuring people stay connected!
And most importantly: don't ask what the Social And Recreation Club can do for you, but what you, and we together, can do for the Club! Yes, we can!
